Step 1: Log in to your WeWeb account
To start the process, first, you need to log into your WeWeb account. You should use the email and password that you have associated with your WeWeb account to login. If you don't have an account, you will need to create one before progressing.
Step 2: Navigate to the admin area
Once you have successfully logged in, you will be taken to your dashboard. The admin area is usually in the top right corner of the dashboard. You need to click on the icon to access the administrative functions.
Step 3: Go to user management
In the admin area, there will be several tabs that control different areas of your website. Look for the tab or button that says "Users" or "User Management" and click on it. This will take you to an overview of all your users and their assigned roles and permissions.
Step 4: Add or select a user
To manage user permissions and roles, you need to either add a new user or select an existing one. To add a new user, click on the "Add User" button which is normally located at the top or the bottom of the User Management page. To select a user, just click on the name or username of the user in the user list.
Step 5: Assign or adjust a role
After you have selected or created a user, you will be able to assign them a role or adjust their current role. Roles are the categories that you assign to the users which determines what they can do on your site. WeWeb has various default roles, including admin, editor, and viewer. Select the role that you want the user to have from the dropdown menu or list.
Step 6: Customize permissions
Once the role has been assigned, you can further customize the user's permissions. Permissions in WeWeb control what specific actions a user can perform within their role. For instance, an editor may be allowed to edit and publish content, but not to delete it. To change permissions, find the permissions setting, normally a list of checkboxes, and tick or untick as appropriate.
Step 7: Save changes
After you have assigned or adjusted the user's role and permissions, don't forget to save your changes. Usually, you need to click on a "Save" or "Update" button. After saving, the user's role and permissions are immediately active.
Step 8: Confirm changes
Lastly, it's good to confirm that your changes have been saved. Go back to the User Management section and find the user whose role and permissions you have changed. Check to see if the changes reflect accurately.
Now you have completed the process of managing user roles and permissions in WeWeb. Repeat these steps as necessary when adding new users or adjusting existing user roles and permissions.
