Step 1: Log into your WeWeb Account
Begin by logging into your WeWeb account. Place your email and password into the appropriate fields and hit the login button. If you don't have a WeWeb account, you'll need to sign up and create one before you can proceed.
Step 2: Navigate to your website's backend
After you've logged in, find the list of your websites on the dashboard. Click the link or icon for the website you want to add social media sharing buttons to. This will take you to the backend of your selected website.
Step 3: Access the editing interface
Once you're in your website's backend, find and click on the 'Edit Website' button. This could be located in different places, depending on your website layout and design; however, it's usually on the top menu or on the left sidebar. Clicking this button will open the editing interface for your website.
Step 4: Add a Social Media Widget
Inside the editing interface, you should see a toolbar on the left-hand side of the screen. Scroll down until you see the 'Social' widget. Click on it. This will open a sub-menu with various social media widgets. This might include Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and more.
Step 5: Choose the Social Media buttons you want to add
From the list of available social media widgets, select the ones relevant to your website or business. For instance, if you're most active on Instagram and Twitter, you might only want to add these two. You can add more than one social media widget, so feel free to include as many as you want.
Step 6: Customize your buttons
After selecting your preferred social media widgets, you can customize their look to match your website. Change the color, size, and style to your preference. Most widgets also allow you to change their orientation (horizontal or vertical).
Step 7: Position your buttons in the right place
Once you have customized your buttons, the next step is to position them in the right place on your website. You might want the buttons to appear on every page, or only on specific pages like blog posts or product listings. To do this, just drag and drop the widget to your chosen location on the page.
Step 8: Input your Social Media Information
Each social media widget will have a settings panel where you can input your social media page URLs. Make sure to provide the correct links, so the buttons will connect to your actual social media pages.
Step 9: Preview your Website
After positioning your widgets and adding your social media links, always preview your website to ensure everything is appearing and functioning correctly. Look for the preview button, which is typically located at the top of your screen and click on it.
Step 10: Save and Publish
If the preview is satisfactory, save your changes and publish the updated website. There should be a 'Publish' button at the top of the screen. Click on it, and your website, complete with social sharing buttons, will be live.
Final Tip: Test your Buttons
To ensure everything is working as it should, open your live website and click on the social media buttons. They should open your social media pages in a new tab. If they do, congratulations, you've successfully added social sharing buttons to your WeWeb website.
