How to backup a WeWeb website?

Step 1: Login to WeWeb Account

The first step is to sign into your WeWeb account. You should have a registered account in order to do this. Go to the WeWeb webpage and click on the "Log in" button. Enter your username and password, and then click the "Sign in" button to proceed.

Step 2: Go To Your Website Dashboard

Once you've logged into your WeWeb account, you will be taken to your dashboard. Your dashboard displays all the websites you have created. Locate the website you want to backup and click on it. This will lead you to the management section of that particular website.

Step 3: Open Website Editor

Look for the 'Editor' button and click it. This will open the WeWeb editor for your website. In the WeWeb editor, you can modify various aspects of your website such as design, structure, code, among others.

Step 4: Locate the Backup Section

In the WeWeb editor, you should see an option labelled as “Backup” on the left side toolbar. Click on the "Backup" section to expand it and reveal the various options related to backing up your website.

Step 5: Backup Your Website

After opening the “Backup” section, you will see two options - to create a new backup or to restore a previous one.

To backup your website, click on ‘Create new backup.’ WeWeb will then prompt you to provide a name for the new backup. Giving a clear, descriptive name can be helpful, especially if you frequently back up your site.

Step 6: Confirm the Backup

After naming your backup, click the Confirm button. WeWeb will then begin backing up your website, and you will see a progress indicator. Depending on the size of your website, this could take some time. Do not close the window or log out of your account during this time.

Step 7: Ready to Download

Once the backup process is complete, it will be available to download in the "Backup" section of your WeWeb editor.

Step 8: Download and Save Your Backup

After the backup is completed, you can download it and save it in a safe place on your device or an external storage device. It is recommended to have a copy of your website backup in an external device or cloud storage, in case of any unforeseen circumstances that might lead to data loss on your local device.

Now, you have successfully created a backup of your WeWeb website.

Keep in mind that it's a good practice to periodically backup your WeWeb website, especially after making significant changes or additions to it. This ensures you always have a recent version of your site to revert back to, should anything go wrong.

Moreover, always remember to test your backups regularly to make sure they work properly.
