Step 1: Log into your WeWeb account
The first step to exporting a WeWeb project as code is to log in to your WeWeb account. Navigate to the WeWeb website and click on the "Login" button located in the top right corner of the site. Enter your email and password and then click "Log In" to access your account.
Step 2: Navigate to the website editor
Once logged in, you will be taken to the dashboard where you can see all your websites created using WeWeb. Pick the website that you wish to export and click on it. This will open up the website editor window.
Step 3: Open the settings menu
In the website editor, look for a settings or menu icon, usually located in the upper right corner of the editor. Clicking on this icon will open up a dropdown menu.
Step 4: Choose the export option
From the dropdown menu, look for an option that says something akin to "Export" or "Download Site." Please note that this feature might only be available for certain account types and might require a premium or professional account.
Step 5: Choose the code export option
Once you click on the export option, a new window will open with different ways to export your website. One of the options will be "Export as Code." Click on this option.
Step 6: Confirm and export
After choosing "Export as Code," click on "Confirm" or "Export" to begin the exporting process. This may take a few moments as the platform gathers all the code files for your website.
Step 7: Download the code
Once the code is ready for download, you will be given a link or a "Download" button to click. After clicking, a ZIP file with all the code files of your website will be downloaded to your computer.
Step 8: Unzip the downloaded file
Navigate to the location where the ZIP file is downloaded and unzip it. After unzipping, you will see all the source code files of your website in different folders based on the website structure.
Please note that while you can now use and modify this code as you wish, it's important to keep in mind that some platforms may have specific terms and conditions regarding the use of exported code, particularly when used with third-party hosting sites or other website builders. Please check WeWeb's terms and conditions to ensure you're in compliance.
Step 9: Congratulations!
Congratulations! You've successfully exported your WeWeb project as code. You can now use this website on a different hosting platform, share it with others, or edit it further in a code editor.
