Building a Secure and Efficient B2B Steel Marketplace
RapidDev successfully developed a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for Ferrodot, a B2B anonymous marketplace for buying and selling metal plates for four user roles: buyer, seller, admin, and visitor. The application has provided a convenient and secure trading platform, receiving positive user feedback and demonstrating high efficiency and flexibility for scaling.

About
Ferrodot is a marketplace for plates used in equipment and machinery manufacturing, powered by technology and data. Ferrodot connects qualified suppliers and buyers around the world. This marketplace is independent with no association with mills or distributors, and it is anonymous to safeguard the sensitive inventory data of sellers and the material needs of buyers. Buyers can list their Requests for Quotes (RFQs) publicly or privately, while sellers can do the same with their products. An admin facilitates private transactions and moderates the marketplace. The platform is designed to be flexible and scalable, accommodating the evolving needs of the steel trading industry.
The Challenge
The primary challenge of the Ferrodot project was to develop a secure and efficient B2B marketplace for metal plates within a tight 12-week timeline. The project required creating an anonymous trading platform that catered to four distinct user roles: buyers, sellers, admins, and visitors. Ensuring data security and anonymity was paramount, necessitating robust mechanisms for managing public and private listings.
The team needed to design an intuitive interface, set up a comprehensive admin panel for moderation, and implement seamless functionality for transactions. Additionally, the application had to be scalable, adaptable to future growth, and fully localized into Korean to expand its user base. Despite an evolving project scope, maintaining clear communication and delivering a high-quality MVP on time and within budget were critical challenges successfully addressed by RapidDev.
The Solution
RapidDev developed Ferrodot’s B2B steel marketplace through a structured 12-week development process. The project began with detailed requirement gathering and wireframe creation to map the core user journeys for buyers, sellers, administrators, and visitors. An intuitive interface was then designed and implemented in Bubble, with a database structure built to manage users, listings, and transactions efficiently.
The platform introduced key functionality for each user role, including buyer purchasing flows, seller listing management, and an admin control panel for overseeing users and transactions. Profile verification and listing management systems were implemented to maintain platform security. After comprehensive QA testing and optimization, the application was localized in Korean and successfully launched, with RapidDev providing post-launch support to ensure stable operation.
The Result
All key functions work stably and without failures. The application has received positive reviews for its interface and functionality. Users note the high security and ease of use of the platform. This anonymous marketplace has provided an effective platform for trading metal plates. The number of transactions has increased and the user base has expanded due to the anonymity and security of the platform.
The application is designed in such a way that it can easily adapt to new requirements and scale in case of growth of the user base and an increase in trade volumes.
The team continues to provide technical support and promptly respond to emerging problems and suggestions for improving functionality. Updates are regularly released to improve the performance and security of the platform.
RapidDev produced the deliverables on time and on budget. The project manager was highly engaged, and their leadership leaned in from time to time as well. If there was a certain bottleneck, the PM and leadership also served as thought partners for solving problems and developing a workaround.
Despite an evolving scope, RapidDev was able to communicate clarification points and suggested workarounds, in a highly proactive and clear manner.
