How to integrate Bubble.io with AWeber?

Bubble.io provides the tools necessary to build a web application. AWeber, on the other hand, is an email marketing service that helps in managing your email list, delivering automated emails, etc. To integrate these two platforms, follow the steps below:

Preparations

Before proceeding with the process, you will need to make sure you have the following:

  1. A Bubble.io application – If you don't have one yet, create one.
    • Visit Bubble.io
    • On the first page, click on "Get Started."
    • Sign up and create your application.
  2. An AWeber account – you can create one by visiting AWeber.com.

Step 1: Access AWeber API

To send data from Bubble to AWeber, you'll need to use AWeber's API.

  1. Log in to your AWeber account.
  2. Click on the avatar in the top right corner.
  3. In the dropdown menu, click on "My Account."
  4. In the opened page, go to "API & Integrations" section.
  5. Click on "API Access."
  6. On the next page, you will find your API Key and API Secret. You'll need these when you're setting up the Bubble.io plugin.

Step 2: Install the Plugin on Bubble.io

  1. Sign in to your Bubble.io account.
  2. Under your app, go to the "Plugins" tab on the left side.
  3. Click on the "+ Add plugins" button.
  4. Search for 'Pathfix OAuth and User Management.'
  5. Click the plugin to install it.
  6. Once installed, you'll be able to configure the plugin in your Bubble.io app.

Step 3: Configure the Plugin in Bubble.io

  1. In your app, navigate to the Plugins section again and search for the plugin you installed.
  2. In the configurations part:
    • API Key: Paste the API key from your AWeber account.
    • API Secret: Paste the API secret from your AWeber account.
  3. Save the changes and the plugin will be configured.

Step 4: Setup API Workflow in Bubble.io

  1. Navigate to the 'API Workflows' section in the backend workflow section of your Bubble.io application.
  2. Click '+ New API Endpoint,' give the endpoint a name and save it.

Step 5: Setup API Calls

  1. In Bubble, navigate back to the plugins page.
  2. Click 'Add another API call.'
  3. Select the AWeber Account Auth from the dropdown list.
  4. Configure the remaining fields based on the API call you want to make. For instance, if you want to send an email, you might have to enter the recipient's email address, sender's email, subject line, and body (the specific fields could vary depending on the API method you’re using).

Step 6: Test API Calls

  1. Click on 'Initialize Call' to test the call.
  2. If no errors show up, this means the call was successful. Only then should you use this setup to pass real data to AWeber from Bubble.io.

Step 7: Integration and Final Testing

Now that everything is set up, it's time to integrate actions with your app's workflow and do the final testing to ensure data can be passed successfully from your Bubble.io application to AWeber.
